Preaching to the Protesters

Although the photograph doesn't convey this, I thought that this was quite a funny scene. The man, an obviously passionate preacher of Christianity, was carrying two signs: one was about God being great and all that good stuff and the other seemed to be an unusual diagram of a man with accompanying text about the "Biblical Prophecy". The funny part though, I thought, was the fact that he was preaching to the Women in Black protesters who, in the middle of carrying out one of their silent vigils, completely ignored him.

One set of protesters, one preacher; both conveying their thoughts; neither listening.

Interesting picture. You are in England right? How big a deal is Christianity over there? i.e. how often do you see such displays of faith on a regular basis? The reason I ask is that I have always read that in Europe religion is not as big a deal all around as it seems to be here in the US.
On the picture, it is a shame you couldn't have gotten a higher vantage point and included the women in black in the shot to create a sort of adhoc "service."

New lens? That appears to be the very first picture on your photo blog that has be taken with a long tele lens. I wish you a lot of fun with it and am impatient to see more. Keep up your excellent work! Your photo blog is really outstanding and is always worth the visit.

junebug630: Thanks. I live in Scotland (which, btw, is not the same as England!:)) Christianity is not a big deal here at all. It's popularity has taken a massive hit over the years to such an extant that someone like me (23 years old) knows hardly anyone who is religious (and those who are don't seem to be very passionate about it).
